This week we were given a new narrative brief entitled FRAMED SPACES
We were asked to chose between The Book, The Screen and the environment in regards to how we will present our chosen narrative. My initial idea is to create an interactive or animated ebook. I am interested with either working with non-fiction inspired by my British Museum drawing project or working with either The Worlds Wife by Carol Ann Duffy or The Bloody Chamber by Angela Carter. Both books focus on re-tellings of fairytales and I think they would be interesting to illustrate.
I remembered a exhibition I went to at the Mudac in Lausanne, Switzerland, last summer. It was called What Will I Be Reading. The exhibition displayed a number of alternative approaches to reading a story, I found the exhibition incredibly inspiring and enlightening.
I was particularly interested in the mural illustration where there is a QR code the audience/Viewer can scan which gives more information. This is something that I would be interested in looking into further, however first I would like to explore animated ebooks.
