Silent Movie

This was one of the most challenging projects we were given. We were put into groups of roughly 5 to create a entirely silent movie on a argument for or against a topic. Our topic was for Tax Inequality, something we could hard to make interesting. We brainstormed many ideas and worked well as a team. We finally settled on a idea to show a business gradually becoming more successful due to hard work while another business remained poor due to lack of effort. The budding business paid less tax as it became more successful. while the other business carried on paying the same amount. This was a hard idea to communicate visually and without text. We came up with a interesting way of animating, using a whiteboard and a home made stop motion frame. I had a lot of fun creating it and thought that visually our process was interesting and had potential. Unfortunately our message didn't come across as well as we hoped when it came to the final crit. Some people understood it while others were lost. Overall it was fairly boring and we could have created a more imaginative response. It is a project I would find difficult to improve however, I'd love to create another silent movie, but on a topic with more pathways and potential for imaginative responses.
